Cannabis plants seized in St Leonards raid

At about 2.40pm, police stopped a black Mercedes in Sedlescombe Road North.
Sussex Police said officers detected a strong smell of cannabis, and detained the driver and a passenger.

Hide AdFollowing their arrest, a search warrant was executed at an address in Paynton Road where a tent containing 26 cannabis plants was discovered.
A 22-year-old man of no fixed address, arrested on suspicion of drug-driving and the production of cannabis, has been bailed until July 20 pending further enquiries.
A 24-year-old woman from St Leonards, arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis and the production of cannabis, has been bailed until August 31 pending further enquiries.
