Friday 19 September: Pilates begins at 9am in Udimore Community Hall In Brede the Farmers Market is from 10am – 12 noon in Brede Village Hall. There is some wonderful furniture items and hand made cards, fruit, vegetables, books, bread, cakes, dairy produce, fish, meat and oriental cooking. Hand made sewn items and local apples and fruit juice and much more. Go and look for yourself and then stop for a coffee and a chat with friends. Back in Udimore Community Hall from 11.15am 1.15pm the Wea Practical Gardening: takes place. In Brede and in the Village Hall at 7.30pm the Short Mat Bowls Club will begin their match.

Saturday 20th September: Jumble Sale Brede Parish Room Waterworks Lane 10am – 12am no jumble please they already have enough. From 10am – 4pm you could have fun at St Michaels Hospice vintage fair. There will be vintage motorbikes and cars on display and live entertainment, in the children’s marquee, face painting, workshops and story telling. There will also be craft workshops and retro items being sold and much much more to see and do. There is a prize for the best ‘vintage’ costume. Admission is 50p children’s entry is free. NT Smallhythe Place Orchard day, A wonderful opportunity to explore the house and grounds of the historic house. Outside is the nuttery, orchard and gardens. Why not taste the wines offered, you are able to buy craft work and vegetables and enjoy the talks which take place throughout the day. It takes place from 11am – 5pm and is a free event but normal admission charges apply.

Sunday 21 September: Church Services Father Anthony White conducts the Mass service at 9.30am in St Theresa’s Catholic Church on the old Northiam Road, at 9am, if you need to contact the Father his number is 01424 773125 St George’s Church begin their Family service also at 9.30am Father Martin can be reached on 01424 883408. The Broad oak Methodist Church has a local arrangement for this morning’s service at 10.30am. St Mary’s Church Udimore hold their mornings worship at 11.15am. Cricket: Today our Cricketers are playing Winchelsea away at 1pm and I believe it may be their last match of the season so as always we wish them well. If anyone would like to join the players please contact Andrew 01323 732914. Merriments garden centre – Xtreme Falconry 10am to 4pm today the marvellous display is included in the entrance price for the gardens which is £6 for adults and children are free.

Monday 22 September: Age Uk East Sussex – Brede Community Club begins today at 10.30am – 3.30pm. Today there is the usual news, then darts and exercises Zena after lunch is musical entertainment with Ian. If any one wishes to go along for the afternoon you will be warmly received and for a small donation you can enjoy the music too. Exotic Gardening at Great Dixter 10am – 4.30pm a chance to learn how to incorporate the exotic plants to extend the colour in your garden for longer in the season. The day includes practical sessions, talks and slides the cost is £1.00. The Rainbows are meeting in the small hall of Brede Village Hall, this afternoon from 4.15- 5.15pm, they welcome girls aged between 5-7 years, Brownies meet from 5pm – 6.30pm for girls 7-11 years old. Beavers are In the Scout Hut and welcome Boys and girls from 6years old they begin at 5.30pm to 6.30pm Cubs meet from 6.30 – 8.00pm. Tuesday 23 September: Pilates are in Udimore Community Hall today at 9am. In Brede Village Hall the Brede & Udimore luncheon club meet together at 12.30pm in readiness for their delicious lunch. Wednesday 24 September: the Brede Crafters meet Brede Village Hall at 2pm. Yoga: The exercise class stretching your limbs begins at 7.00pm in Udimore Community Hall.

Thursday 25 September: Stretch and Tone: Sally starts the class at 9.30am. Today Brede WI are meeting in Bodiam at 11.10am in readiness to catch the train to Tenterden where they will have lunch and time to look around before the return journey. If anyone needs a lift please contact Beryl as she is co-ordinating them. You can also contact her 01424 883475 if you wish to become a member of our friendly group. The meetings are the second Wednesday of the month in Brede Village Hall at 2pm. Doctors surgery is in the side hall of the Village Hall at 12 noon

Friday 26 September: You can join Pilates in Udimore Community Hall at 9am. Brede Farmers Market is from 10am – 12 noon in Brede Village Hall. The Wea Practical Gardening: is in Udimore Community Hall, 11.15am – 1.15pm. Brede’s Short Mat Bowlers set up at 7.30pm in Brede Village Hall.

Wednesday 1 October: an Illustrated talk by Dr John Crook FSA entitled The Tomb of Christ; Archaeological Investigations In Jerusalem at Brede Village Hall. Entry will include cheese & biscuits & a glass of wine Tickets cost 7.50 and they are available from Marion Firman 01424 751165 or Pat Whately 01424 883069 book now and save disapontment.

Saturday 11 October: Brede WI Quiz Evening 7pm for 7.30pm start cost is £7.50 and will include a hot supper. It’s time to find your teams and book your place, telephone Ann Elam 01797 222604 to book and for more information
