BRCC governor wins top award

Diane Willson has been nominated as the governor of the year for her work at Bognor Regis Community College.

Mrs Willson is one of two contenders for the title at the south of England final for the 2009 Teaching Awards.

It is recognition of her many years of involvement with the college's governing body.

The awards will be announced in Canterbury on June 2.

Each of the winners will receive a Plato '“ a symbol of excellence in education.

Caroline Evans, chief executive of the Teaching Awards, said the ceremony was a chance to witness the skill, devotion, passion and professionalism which people involved in education brought to their work.
