Book this bug bonanza in Arundel for a great day out

INCREDIBLE insects will be in the spotlight when the Arundel Wetland Centre marks National Insect Week at the end of this month.

Over the weekend of June 28/9, the wetland reserve, in Mill Road, is encouraging people of all ages to learn more about insects through pond dipping sessions, bug hunts and butterfly walks.

Earlier this month a great silver water beetle was found on the reserve, only the third ever recorded in West Sussex.

Pond dipping sessions will be held in the morning and afternoons and in the wildlife garden, Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust volunteers will lead bug hunts each afternoon. Visitors can make glow-stick dragonflies at afternoon craft sessions and on the Sunday afternoon special butterfly walks will be led from 2-4pm by Colin Knight of Butterfly Conservation UK.
