Body of Solihull man found at Beachy Head

An inquest had heard how a man from Sollihul took his own life at Beachy Head after his marriage broke down.

The family of 38-year-old Gary Lee Taylor thought he had left the family home in Shirley in the West Midlands for work. But the alarm was raised when he didn’t show up to his job as a senior quality engineer.

His body was found at cliffs at Beachy Head on February 18 this year and recovered by the coastguard helicopter..

An inquest at Eastbourne Town Hall on Thursday (July 29) heard that Mr Taylor had left notes for his friends and family.

East Sussex coroner James Healy-Pratt recorded a verdict that Mr Taylor had taken his own life.
