BBC comedy award winner launches cabaret in Rye

ANGELA Barnes, winner of BBC New Comedy Award, is headlining a brand new monthly cabaret revue night at Rye’s School Creative Centre on Saturday May 26.

Back in the Room is hosted by satirical Svengalis Lamp & Pil and features comedy, live music and DJ grroves.

Angela Barnes is a regular contributor to The News Quiz on Radio 4 and has performed on Russell Kane’s Summer Seaside Tour on Radio 2 and at a number of venues and festivals including Latitude, Laughs in the Park and Lounge on the Farm. Angela has also been named as one to watch in 2012 by The Times.

Joining Angela on May 26 are the explosive double-act the Bros Uchenko, stilt-walking Simon the Juggler, Jon Doe and Joe Bloggs and Timberlina.

Future headline acts include Joel Dommett, presenter, actor, comedian and new face of MTV, on June 30, and rapid-fire sketch trio Jigsaw, with a a preview of their new Edinburgh show on July 28.
