Don’t forget it is Mothering Sunday this Sunday, March 18. There will be a Mothering Sunday Breakfast at 10am in Ashburhham Village Hall organised by St Peter’s Church. Following the breakfast there will be a family service.

Ashburnham and Penhurst WI are meeting on March 19, 7.30pm at Ashburnham village Hall. This will be an evening of making Easter crafts. For further information, please contact Jill Ratcliffe on 01424 892674.

The Ashburnham and Penhurst Diamond Jubilee Fund Raising Committee are holding a coffee morning on Saturday March 24, 10am-12pm at the Sports Pavilion. With tea, coffee, cakes, biscuits, produce and a chocolate tombola on offer, this is a great chance to catch up with your friends and neighbours.

For the green fingered people of Ashburnham and Penhurst, The Ashburnham and Penhurst Gardening Club March meeting is on Monday 26 entitled “Colours in the Garden from Gertrude Jekyll” at 7.30pm at the Church Hall, Ashburnham Place. Ninfield and Penhurst Parish Council will be meeting on March 28 at Ashburnham Sports pavilion, 6.30pm. All residents of both villages are invited to attend.

The East Sussex County Council Mobile Library service will next be in Ashburnham (by the chapel) on Thursday March 29, 9.50am - 10.10am.
