Armed police called after 'gun' sighting outside Chichester hospital

A firearms incident was declared in Chichester this morning (Tuesday, May 4).

According to Sussex Police, officers were called to St Richard's Hospital shortly before 10am, after members of the public reported seeing a car containing a gun parked outside.

"The area was sealed off and a firearms incident was declared," a police spokesperson said.

"The owner of the car was traced and it was established that it was an airsoft gun which is a replica air weapon.

"He was given words of advice about storing and carrying it. No one was harmed."
