All Saint's Autumn Market

ALL SAINTS church at Sidley held an Autumn Market on Saturday and, on a day which was blessed with glorious sunshine, locals flocked to support this popular event.

Along with the usual stalls including bric a brac, records, videos and Margaret's superb bargain book stall, lovers of home-made produce received a double treat, as two home-made cake and preserve stalls sold a delicious, mouth-watering range, including crab apple jelly, peanut butter cookies, lemon curd, plum pies, chocolate, coffee, and date & walnut cakes.

There was a raffle, and refreshments of teas, coffees, and home-made scones were served, with a grand total of 335 raised for church funds.

The Reverend Trevor Buxton thanked everyone for their support and said the amount raised was "absolutely fantastic", adding: "Once again a lot of people have put in a lot of work; and it's good to see so many folk out enjoying themselves."

The next coffee morning, which will also include a church open day, is on November 1st.
