Aldwick cuts council tax

Good news for the bank accounts of Aldwick's residents has been decided by their parish council.

Members agreed to reduce their share of the council tax by 5 per cent. Their decision will see the parish council take 14.65 from each band D household in the year from next April.

This will provide an income of 80,000 for the council compared to the 84,000 in the current year. The reduction has been prompted by the council's good housekeeping and budgeting for projects which have taken longer than expected to begin.

The circumstances will see the council's reserves grow to an estimated 136,000 by next April.
