Mum of three, wife and hair extension master expert, Hannah Comins, 33, opened Rapunzel Me Hair Salon back in July this year and in just the few months the high street salon has been running Hannah and her beauty squad have made a special difference for hundreds of clients.

Although Hannah finds herself enjoying every moment of her success, from time to time she reflects and reminisces about the battles she faced to get where she is.

“I now find myself laying in bed content and I genuinely can not see anything making my life any better than it is right now,” Hannah says.

“But there was a point where I couldn’t see the light at the end of the tunnel.”

After finishing school Hannah went on to college but she immediately knew that she wanted to get into the business world so she decided to do so.

“I had helped my dad with all of the paperwork for his company and enjoyed the administration side of things so when I was 17 I started working at a local estate agents,” Hannah explains.

“Just one year later I fell pregnant with my eldest Jake and 18 months later myself and Jake’s father then separated.”

At this point, Hannah used her savings to rent a one bedroom flat but in the back of her mind remained her dream to run a business and one day own a house.

Things started to look up for Hannah when she got closer to Jon Comins, a friend who she had met a few years back and after hitting it off so quickly the pair’s mission to build a great life together began.

Hannah reveals: “All of a sudden things started to look up from starting a business together to buying a house and falling pregnant with our first child together then everything took a turn for the worst.”

At 41 weeks pregnant Hannah gave birth to her stillborn daughter Lottie and the news broke their hearts in a way they did not think was mendable. Hannah and Jon were left feeling empty and needing to move away from their business.

“I tried to get myself out of this state of depression for my family but all that was in my mind is that I needed to get pregnant and thankfully only ten weeks later I feel pregnant with my second daughter, Lola,” Hannah explains.

“This brought so much joy to our lives and with Jon then going back into work, I decided it was my time.”

In 2012 Hannah decided to complete a hair extension course and after practicing endlessly to perfect the various techniques, her client base progressed from a few a week in her kitchen to 40-50 a week.

Even her converted garage home salon could not take the amount of business any longer.

Hannah says, “I honestly could not believe how busy I was. It got to the point that I was earning enough not only for Jon to be able to leave his job and focus on our family but for my business to now venture out of the family home, giving my amazing and patient children and Jon, who I married back in 2015, their home back.”

Along with hair colour specialist Sam Orwell, lash and brow technician Nikitia, makeup artist Sophia Jane and other beauty squad members on the horizon, Hannah works endlessly to deliver top quality beauty services to clients all over to make people feel confident and beautiful.

Years on from the tough times Hannah now sits in her dream salon complete with dreamy interior designs and surrounded with supportive friends, family and happily married to her rock and with Lottie in all of their hearts, proving that some fairy tales really do come true…
