“From August 18, our smash burgers and tots will be available at The Dome Cinema.

"Join us from 4pm on opening day – or we’ll be there seven days a week – to swing by for your burger fix.”

Mr Tutt, a bank manager-turned-chef, who owns Pitch in Warwick Street, will begin his new venture after the closures of his flagship restaurant Pitch and seaside venue Bayside Social.

The chef has faced backlash from the Worthing community after planning to opening up a new restaurant when he couldn’t afford to keep Pitch running – and ensure staff were paid on time.

In an interview with the Worthing Herald, he claimed there was no money in the bank to pay staff on time 'but they will be getting what they are owed'.

Mr Tutt added that the majority of the Pitch team has been re-employed in the new Patty Guy venture, which is an ‘entirely separate business’ –cheaper and easier to manage. Click here to read the full interview.

An application sought authorisation for the sale of alcohol ‘for consumption on and off the premises’ at Patty Guy as well as the provision of regulated entertainment ‘in the form of recorded music’.

Worthing Borough Council gave the green light, meaning alcohol can be sold and recorded music can be played during the opening hours from 11am until 11.30pm Monday to Sundays.

The council said: “The applicant offered a comprehensive set of conditions in the operating schedule to address the licensing objectives.

"No relevant representation was received from members of the public, but two were received from responsible authorities – Sussex Police and Adur and Worthing Councils' environmental food team.

“The Licensing Act encourages mediation and this was conducted successfully with the applicant addressing the responsible authorities' concerns by volunteering a number of enforceable conditions to the licence's operating schedule. As a result they withdrew their representations and consequently, the amended application was granted as applied for as per the terms of the Licensing Act 2003."

The premises is currently licensed as part of a separate premises licence ‘covering the whole Dome building’.

The new licence holder and applicant was named as Oyster Foods Ltd t/a Patty Guy. Companies House has Kenny Tutt and his wife, Lucy, registered as the directors of Oyster Foods.

On the business’ website, a description of the restaurant reads: “Patty Guy is a fulfilment of Kenny’s lifelong love affair with burgers and his desire to recreate the feeling of having the perfect bite in your hand.”

Patty Guy already has two Sussex branches – in Brighton and Hastings. Click here to see the burgers and sides on the menu.
