SAVING HOME IS WHERE THE ACTORS' HEARTS ARE

PETER Byrne admits to a certain nervousness when long-term friend theatre producer Paul Elliott told him he'd written a play.

"Paul and I formed E&B Poductions way back un 1965 and we collaborated on pantos, but writing a panto is one thing and a play is another.

"What do you say to your best friend if it is aswful? But he sent it to me and I fell about laughing. It was irresistible."

We went to the Prince of Wales Theatre for a read-through for the great and the good and it just came off the page.
