Awarded an OBE and CBE for services to music, Courtney is a professor of Music at Westminster University and has a doctorate from Leeds College of Music. His recordings and live work have won numerous awards including BBC Jazz Awards, MOBO and Mercury Music Prizes.

2014 saw him touring and headlining festivals across the world, including an all-stars, globally televised concert in Osaka, Japan for UNESCO.

This is a rare opportunity to see the legend up close and for this concert Courtney will be accompanied by fellow Mercury nominee and MOBO Award winning pianist, Zoe Rahman, who has established herself as one of the brightest stars on the contemporary jazz scene. A vibrant and highly individual pianist and composer, her style is deeply rooted in jazz yet it reflects her classical background, British/Bengali heritage and her very broad musical taste.
