Small-town detective Noah Cordin (Nick Stahl) presides over the affluent town of Hilliard, a far cry from his hometown of Caswell, which is teetering on the verge of economic collapse.
The community’s future rests uneasily on a proposed new manufacturing plant.
Noah is called to the home of Allison Connor (Laura Benanti), a powerful figure on the Meskada County Board of Commissioners.
Her son has been murdered during a burglary and Cordin must find the killers as quickly as possible. The only scrap of evidence is a piece of paper linking back to Caswell.
Cordin enlists the help of old friend and cop Daniel Hartfield (Michael Sirow) and local bar owner Billy Burns (James McCaffrey) to discover if the perpetrators are at large in his hometown.
In the process, he uncovers dark secrets that jeopardise his position in Hilliard.
