CONCERT: Sounds of Africa in Aldwick

Sounds from Africa will fill an Aldwick church next month.

The Watoto Children’s Choir is making a return visit to Aldwick Baptist Church (Free) on March 1.

Some 20-25 orphans aged eight to 15 are expected to sing in the 7pm concert at the Gossamer Lane church. Admission will be free.

Concert organiser Susan Applin said it would be a chance to hear some traditional music from the continent.

She said: “The choir was popular when they came here two years ago. They will sing their compositions and bear the Christian witness in songs.

“A lot of the children have lost parents through drugs and war. Some of them will share their stories at the concert. There will also be a short DVD showing how the choir has changed their lives.”

The singers will be joined by 12 adult supervisors and will also visit Rose Green Infant School that afternoon.
