Sussex Sharks are looking to push towards a Clydesdale Bank 40 semi-final clash – and you can be there to see them try to take a big step towards it and the Lord’s final that could follow.
They sat four points clear at the top of the Group A table after a record-breaking 80-run victory over the Worcestershire Royals at Horsham on Sunday.
The hosts broke the world record for 40-over List A cricket as they piled up 399 for four, with Ed Joyce and Joe Gatting both making big centuries.
The Royals played their part in the run-fest and it needed three wickets apiece from Naveed Arif Gondal and Chris Liddle to ensure the Sharks won as they got the Royals out for 319.
Sussex visit Yorkshire on Sunday (Aug 21) and return to The PROBIZ County Ground, Hove, to entertain Kent Spitfires next Tuesday (Aug 23) evening.
The action gets under way at 4.40pm and the Observer has teamed up with Sussex Sharks to offer three pairs of tickets to the Spitfires game. To stand a chance of winning, buy this week’s paper and turn to page 38 to enter the competition.
