VIDEO: Fontwell stages Hunter Chase races

A RARE 50/1 winner was the highlight of Fontwell’s third annual Hunter Chase meeting.

Lets Get Serious streaked hom 19 lengths clear ofthe runner-up in the United Hunts Open Champion Hunters’ Chase, ridden by CJ Miller for trainer Dai Williams.

Elsewhere on the card, there was success for three horses tipped on this website.

Cygnet won the Ladies’ Open Hunters’ Chase for the Stuart Adamson Memorial Trophy at 4/1 under Jodie Hughes for trainer Mickey Bowen.

Kimora was an 11/4 victor in the SIS Live Mares’ Hunters’ Chase for trainer Marc Barber and jockey Matthew Barber.

Our third success came from Full Trottle in the Maiden Hunters’ Chase for the Cuckoo Maiden Challenge Cup, coming in at 8/1 with Jonathan Bailey on board.

The fixture - the early part of which was hit by rain - opened with Louis Muspratt taking the Claim Your £50 Welcome Bonus! Novices’ Hunters’ Chs for the Guy Peate Memorial Chall Trphy on 3/1 favourite Impact Area.

The 10/1 shot Out Of Range won the Call Star Sports On 08000 521321 Novices’ Hunters’ Chase for trainer Pauline Harkin, while Can Mestret (9/4) was the winner of the Weatherbys Printing Open Hunters’ Chase for the United Hunts Cup.

It’s the third year Fontwell has staged a Hunter Chase fixture and although the weather was a let-down, officials can be pleased to have had more than 70 runners across the seven races.

Hunter chases are open only to horses that have hunter certificates. Hunter certificates are issued to horses that have hunted for at least four days in the season before racing starts in January. In addition, the jockey must be an amateur who has obtained a certificate from the hunt secretary.
