A cold and misty Sunday morning greeted 14 Tone Zone Runners as they took the short drive east for the Worthing Half Marathon.
Their star was Jess Thomson, who managed to smash an incredible four minutes from her previous best to finish in 1hr 40min 45sec.
Also performing very well were Claire Baker and Chris Dummer, who both achieved PBs in 2:06 and 1:30 respectively, with Dummer also first Tone Zoner to finish.
For Nicola Kettley, Lucy Brand and David Paige, Worthing was a first attempt at half-marathon distance. All ran very well and completed the course.
Along the coast was the Portsmouth Coastal Half Marathon, normally a slog through mud, hail and sea spray. Fortunately the runners were spared most of that this year.
Seven Tone Zone runners took part with club coach Jackie Williamson leading the way and Neil Pacey following close behind for his best half-marathon time of 1:54.
Heading north was Simon Gill, who ran in the Wokingham Half Marathon. He is midway through training for the Brighton Marathon in April, so this was a good test to see how he was progressing.
Gill passed the test with flying colours, keeping a fast and even pace throughout to finish in 1:12:14, taking more than a minute from his previous best.
