Picture special to celebrate Chichester Corporate Challenge being saved

It’s one of the sporting highlights of the year in Chichester – and it looks like the 2021 renewal will be saved.

Plans are afoot to stage the Chichester Corporate Challenge road race series later in the year. The event consists of three midweek race nights in February and March, each involving hundreds of senior and junior runners tackling a tight city-centre route for individual and team honours. The second of last year’s trio of Corporate Challenge evenings, on March 11, was one of the last public events before the country was plunged into its first lockdown. Now it looks like the challenge could be one of the first AFTER lockdown too.

Chichester Runners, who have been organising the event since its 1992 launch, hope to stage this year’s event in June and July, getting all three race nights in before the schools break up. It’s all subject to the present lockdown release plans staying on track, of course, but as things stand, it’s something for the city to look forward to. To celebrate, we delve into the archives to bring you these pictures from past Corporate Challenges. See more at chichester.co.uk
