Racing UK is sponsoring the Qatar Goodwood Festival top jockey award, for which Richard Hughes is 5-2 favourite with Sky Bet as he bids to bow out of the saddle in style.
The leading jockey over the five-day festival, which starts on Tuesday, will receive a subscription to Racing UK, a £1,000 donation to the charity of his/her choice and a deluxe Goodwood hamper.
Hughes will be gunning for his fifth title in six years on what will be his final week in the stirrups before he embarks on a new career as a trainer.
As leading rider from last year’s meeting, William Buick will wear the Racing UK blue and white armband for the opening race on Tuesday, the Sky Bet First Race Special Stakes.
Clive Cottrell, Racing UK’s Marketing Director, said: “Racing UK is delighted to sponsor the Qatar Goodwood Festival Top Jockey award for the sixth year running. We have been a long-standing supporter of the jockeys, primarily through our sponsorships and continued close association with the PJA. We’re always keen to get involved with the sport’s real ambassadors.”
