From Monday more than six people can train together. The Chi club will generally keep groups to 13-strong but there will be occasions where it’s higher, while still in line with the rules.

Club chairman Jon McElhill said: “We will be training in various parts of Chichester so we try to avoid any coming together of groups. All venues are risk assessed. We’re not breaking lockdown rules – rather the opposite - by keeping our members fit, we’re doing our best to help in this battle.

“We will be welcoming back around 100 adult runners at training sessions and a similar number at countryside trail runs. Around 75 juniors will take part in their sessions.”
