Noah Burton, a junior member of Chichester Racquets & Fitness Club, has won his first LTA grade-four tournament in the 12-and-under boys’ singles (elimination draw) competition, which was recently staged at Haslemere Tennis Club.
In the final he defeated the No1 seed, Samuel Holland (Surrey) 6-1, 6-0.
Together with Zachary Finn, Burton also won the boys’ 12-and-under doubles round-robin event at the same event.
He is ranked eight in the Nike British Tennis Sussex rankings and has also won the 2014 Sussex county tour leaderboard for his age group.
Before this, he won four out of the past six tournaments he has entered as well as winning the 2014 12-and-under boys’ Chichester Racquets & Fitness Club closed championship title.
This year’s successful season is a big achievement for Burton and for the Chichester Tennis Academy coaching team.
Head coach Justin Pollard, Pete Cook and Mat Worden gave Burton individual lessons and encouraged his love for the game of tennis.
They have all worked closely with Burton and continue to support him. Burton is a member of the performance group at the club and works closely with Suzanne Nemeth, LTA coach, for specific fitness and conditioning programmes.
