TEAM Chichester entertained TWP St George’s Hill in round four of the Premier Squash Leaue in what looked to be the fixture of the season so far, at Oaklands Park, and what a match it turned out to be.

Chichester’s Lauren Briggs went into her match against Dominique Lloyd-Walter as the slight favourite. Her opponent, however, had other ideas as she took the first game.

Briggs nicked the second 11-9, before Lloyd-Walter continued in the same vein in the third and fourth games to put the visitors one up.

Nafiizwan Adnan, playing his first match for Chichester this season, had a battle royal with Tom Richards.

Adnan fought back to take the second and a really exciting match ensued. Adnan forged 2-1 ahead and both players battled hard, but Richards levelled the score to take it to a decider, which Adnan one 14-12.

Chichester’s Anthony Graham beat Phil Nightingale 3-1 as, after winning a tight second game on tie break, he triumphed 11-3, 11-2 to put Chichester 2-1 up on the night.

Robbie Temple then took on Charles Sharpes from the visitors and secured the overall match victory as he recorded 11-4,11-1 and 11-6 wins after losing the first game 12-10.

Although the match victory was already achieved, the dead rubber match between Chichester’s Jonathan Kemp and Daryl Selby was nothing but.

Kemp snatched the first game 11-8, before Selby moved to 2-1 up. Selbey looked set for victory before Kent came back to level and won the deciding game.
