TWELVE Regis Gymnastics members went to the Chichester invitational competition and were overjoyed to return with a record haul of eight medals.

The younger gymnasts kicked off the day with some clean performances, and Erin Green took the silver medal for her

floor routine in the nine-years novice category.

The club’s older gymnasts dominated the floor and vault medals with every gymnast entered making the podium.

In the ten-years novice category, Madeleine Russell took bronze and Phoebe Smart in her first outing for Regis took gold - both for their floor routines.

In the 11-years novice category, Elinor Haines took bronze for her vault and fourth place on floor.

Rosie Capper and Elissa Jones both gained the top floor score to share the gold medal.

Bethany Dugdale was competing in the 12+ novice category with gymnasts many years older than her. She performed consistently over both pieces to take a bronze for her Vault and a silver for her floor routine.

The club will travel to Gravesend next month to take part in a competition there and head coach Anna King is optimistic of another successful day.

The club are based at the Arena Sports Centre, Bognor, and would-be gymnasts should contact Anna on 07799 836341 or the
