Veteran Sussex Helice shooter Ivor Dadswell from Lurgashall enjoyed great success throughout the 2012 shooting season.
Having competed in a series of selection shoots, Dadswell gained a place in the British team for the European Championship in Portugal. He came home with a team bronze medal and individual bronze.
The world championship was held in Rome in July in temperatures of 42°C. Despite the heat, the British team acquitted themselves very well and Dadswell secured a team gold medal and individual bronze.
The World Cup final was held near Madrid and was the culmination of a series of five competitions.
The qualifying shoots were the Portuguese Grand Prix, the European championship, the Italian Grand Prix, the World championship and the World Cup final.
Winning the Veteran World Cup was the perfect end to the season for Dadswell after he had also won the Sussex championship and the south east of England championship.
British Team selection shoots for this year’s World championship commence on April 27. Details of fixtures can be found on the BICTSF website.
