Middleton’s under-ten cricket team were successful in winning the first west area indoor Christmas cricket competition held at the Six Villages Arena.

Middleton, Bognor, Chichester Priory Park and Littlehampton cricket clubs played a round-robin tournament and after some closely-fought matches Middleton came out on top with three victories from their three games.

Excellent batting from Ben Peach and Jack Dawling enabled Middleton to reach match-winning scores against determined opposition, while Ollie Humphries, Lewis Faint and Ben Taylor bowled with consistent accuracy throughout, Humphries just missing out on a hat-trick.

This continues Middleton under-tens’ form from the winter league and the team are now unbeaten in all matches played.

There is a fantastic team spirit and every player is clearly having fun, contributing and developing their game.
