Pompey new-boy Miles Storey is expected to make his maiden Blues appearance tomorrow.

The loan recruit yesterday trained with his Pompey team-mates for the first time and has been earmarked to play against the Hawks.

He will be one of eight summer signings in the frame to feature in the pre-season friendly at Westleigh Park tomorrow (3pm).

With a first-team squad numbering 29 at present, Awford admitted some could be rested.

But Storey is set to play some part in the traditional summer fixture.

Pompey’s boss said: ‘Miles trained yesterday morning and settled in really well.

‘Looking at whether he can feature tomorrow, obviously we will have to address where he is at – that is why he has trained and done a bit of work.

‘He has done some ball work, small-sided stuff and hard running and came through all of it no problems.

‘The nucleus of the boys have been in for two weeks and we are not too sure what he has done at Swindon, but he will be in the squad.

‘I don’t see any reason at the minute why he can’t be.’

Tickets for tomorrow’s friendly are priced at £12 for adults and £8 for concessions, with gates open from 1pm.

Awford will today finalise his squad for the match against Lee Bradbury’ side, with David Connolly among those under consideration.

He added: ‘All those I take tomorrow will play, definitely.

‘But some might need a rest as they have worked really hard over the last few weeks and I don’t want to put them through that game time.

‘So I might leave a couple out for that reason. It is something I will gauge.’
