Pompey have moved swiftly to bring in two defenders on loan to boost their options.
Veteran Nyron Nosworthy has arrived from Blackpool, while QPR’s Cole Kpekawa has also joined – both on deals for the remainder of the season.
Andy Awford has made the swoops with the injured Jack Whatmough out for the rest of the campaign and Paul Robinson also a doubt.
Centre-half Nosworthy, aged 34, has made five appearances for the Tangerines this term, although only one of his outings has come in 2015.
Kpekawa, a central defender or left wing-back, played six times for Colchester during a loan spell earlier this season.
Both are available for Saturday’s trip to AFC Wimbledon.
