Tom Craddock has left Pompey in a bid to win a deal at Cambridge United.
The 28-year-old had been training with the Blues and was scheduled to play a part in Saturday’s fixture at the Hawks.
However, on Friday he was offered the opportunity for more match minutes by the U’s in their game with St Neots Town.
Craddock responded with four goals as a second-half substitute in their 7-2 victory on Saturday.
The striker has now opted to leave Fratton Park and trial with Richard Money’s team as he attempts to earn a contract.
