THE mantelpiece at his Hedge End home already sports one piece of silverware.
Yet Ben Davies is convinced Michael Doyle, Enda Stevens and Gareth Evans are the three-pronged threats in any attempts to add to it.
Midnight marks the end of voting for The News/Sports Mail Player of the Season.
So far our readers have registered support for 11 different Pompey players, rendering it the most open race for years.
That figure reflects the high number of consistent performers within a Blues side which has reached the League Two play-offs.
It was Davies who scooped the first player award of the campaign, honoured by the London Pompey Supporters’ Club last month.
Another eight are scheduled to be presented to their respective recipients half-an-hour before kick-off against Northampton on Saturday.
That includes The News’ coveted trophy, first collected by goalkeeper Peter Mellor in 1979.
Inevitably Davies will be a strong contender for the remaining accolades following an outstanding maiden campaign at Fratton Park.
Although the modest right-back pinpointed Doyle, Stevens and Evans as team-mates who should feature high on any supporter list.
He said: ‘It was an honour to receive the award at the London Pompey Supporters’ Club do last month, I really wasn’t expecting it.
‘It is on the mantlepiece at home. It is fantastic supporters have voted for me because they think I have done a decent job.
‘I think there are a few others who deserve plenty of recognition, certainly if you finish above Michael Doyle, Enda Stevens and Gaz Evans you have had a great season.
‘It could be any one of them, there are some lads who have had great seasons in there.
‘Doyle has been brilliant, Enda has played well, while you have Gaz’s work-rate and goals, the three of them have been absolutely brilliant.
‘I have enjoyed this year, the gaffer has let me play with a lot of freedom to get up and down, which has suited my game.
‘If we don’t go up it will be a disappointing season for us all with the quality of players we have.
‘It’s a case of taking your accolades but we all know what is coming around the corner and we are going to get ourselves geared up for the play-offs.
‘We are desperate to give the club and supporters something they deserve.’
Players awards to be presented on Saturday are from the Northern Blues, South West Blues, Central Branch, Chichester, Clan Pompey, Isle of Wight and Stateside Pompey.
In addition, Pompey’s End of Season Awards Dinner is being held in the Victory Lounge on Monday evening.
The sold-out event, with Dean Windass as a guest speaker, will see the presentation of the players’ player of the season, goal of the season and young player of the season.
