The Lions' management and players are going to run a combined 1000km in 30 days to help raise money for the British Heart Foundation, a fitting tribute to Barry. The Lions have set up a Go Fund Me page for donations to be made.

They said: “Each runner will run in their own time and separate from each other, as well as following all Covid-19 restrictions.

“Ex committee member and lifelong legend of the club Barry Price was a truly amazing man who loved supporting Pagham week in week out, as well as his Chelsea Football Club.

“Our aim is to raise as much money as possible for the British Heart Foundation, any donation would be very much appreciated.

“A massive thank you in advance to all who support our fundraiser... the legend himself would be so proud.”

Meanwhile Pagham, like all local clubs, are waiting to see if and when their league fixtures might resume. The SCFL are in the same boat as the Isthmian League and others across the country.

No local football will be allowed until mid-February at the earliest and there’s a growing feeling the 2020-21 will become the second campaign in a row declared void.
