Bosham need YOUR help to keep club running

Bosham FC have issued an urgent appeal for help.

The Sussex League third-division club have been established for more than 100 years and have given young and old the opportunity to enjoy football.

As well as providing fulfilment for youngsters, the club have also enabled quality players to ply their trade under expert coaching to further their careers.

But now the club, like many others, are falling on tough times, with growing ground requirements and a steady increase in financial commitments in order for them to maintain their status as a County League club.

The club need new blood to prevent the village and surrounding area losing such an important part of its character.

Chairman Alan Price said: “Any time that anyone is able to give to help our cause will be treasured.

“The more people we have, the better we can run as a club, which is vital to our success and progress.

“Financial input is high on the agenda and anyone who feels they can help the club in that capacity is encouraged to get in touch.

“Such things as new dugouts, better barriers and clubhouse refurbishments are things we’ll struggle to accomplish without financial backing from sponsors and private investors.

“We also need things like a club linesman, kitchen attendant and matchday secretary – key roles for the new campaign.

“I’ve been both vice-chairman and chairman of Bosham and I love to work within its family with gusto, passion and determination, drawn from my love of the game.

“The club thrive on volunteers and we desperately need more.

“As well as players, we are urgently seeking members of our working committee for next season and beyond, including the following roles: vice-chairman, treasurer, membership secretary, club secretary and clubhouse manager/bar manager.

“These are the most vital roles we need to fill and I’d be delighted if this could be achieved.

“Anyone interested would be welcomed into our club, along with family and friends.”
