The four are all committing to the Nye Camp cause for the 2020-21 campaign – and the club are set to add to their ranks with another centre-half who could sign as soon as today (Thursday).

If his signature is confirmed it is one that will be widely welcomed by the Rocks faithful.

Meanwhile former Pompey academy full-back Davies – who along with Field missed the whole of last season through a serious knee injury – could be fit to start the season when league fixtures begin in mid-September.

Fans will have to wait longer to see Field back in action – he is not likely to be fully fit and ready for match action until around December.

The latest names set to sign are on top of the four already confirmed – namely, goalkeeper Amadou Tangara, midfielder Tommy Leight, left-sided specialist Ashton Leigh and striker Brad Lethbridge.

Manager Jack Pearce said it was pleasing to see the squad build up ahead of next Monday’s start of pre-season training.

“We’ve not been able to rush anything. Everything has been up in the air for many clubs during the lockdown but now we’re starting to get deals done,” he said.

“Calvin is almost there with his fitness and we hope he can start the season, though he has been out a long time and we have to be cautious. Chad’s recovery is longer-term.

“In addition it will be great to have characters like Harvey and Craney back in the dressing room.”

The Rocks have lined up six friendlies to get the team sharpened up ready for the new Isthmian season.
