Brighton have been drawn away to League One newcomers Swindon Town in the first round of the Capital One Cup.
Albion will face off with the Robins, who are led by madcap manager Paolo Di Canio, in the week starting August 13 – days before the start of the club’s Championship campaign.
The league actions gets underway on Saturday, August 18, with the fixtures released this coming Monday.
Gus Poyet and his men could line up against recently released Alan Navarro, who is expected to sign for Swindon today after reportedly agreeing a deal earlier this week.
The draw might not be particularly appealing to supporters but will certainly interest the Seagulls captain Gordon Greer and fellow former Swindon star Peter Brezovan.
