The Felpham Oval outfit will begin their Sussex League division six west campaign at home to Rustington on Saturday, May 1.

Club spokesman Ian Guppy said: “We look forward to the start of the 2021 season with a little trepidation because of any possible stop/start issues, but we can only go on the advice of the government and the Sussex Cricket Board.

“We ended last season with an influx of colts and this will be our focus – to promote these into more exposure of all levels of cricket.

“Our twos (who will play in division 11 west south) this year will be predominantly teenagers but this is the route the club need to go down and it fills us with excitement.

“And we hope the excellent work that the Sussex Slam is doing to promote friendly cricket, will enable a few more new members to join us.

“As a club we’re settling on just enjoying the cricket this season, supporting our new under-nine side and launching Dynamos Cricket, which is the next stage of All Stars and excites us.

“Having seen the effect lockdown has had on everyone we can’t wait for those evenings at the club seeing all the children loving life – with their parents enjoying a drink or two with us.

“We have two league sides in the Sussex League, a Sussex Slam side, a League T20 and two friendly sides (midweek and Sunday) so all abilities will be catered for.

“We are also exploring a mixed men’s and women’s side for the first time, which is also something that excites us after having four ladies playing for Chichester last year. We want to expand this and offer competitive cricket to everyone.”
