DURAND Academy certainly know how to make enemies. What an appalling statement from Kevin Craig reported in last week’s Midhurst and Petworth Observer.
He is attacking SDNPA member Jennifer Gray for commenting on her experience of ‘urban children’.
Is Mr Craig making these remarks in his capacity as a governor of Durand Academy, as Durand’s paid public relations adviser or as Kate Hoey’s election agent?
Does Mr Craig think that he is acting in the best interests of the children by trying to create a scandal where none exists?
Durand had two opportunities to challenge the SDNPA’s planning decision of December 2013.
If they believed there was
any procedural or legal defect in the decision-making process they could have applied for judicial review.
If they wanted to challenge the substance of the decision they could have appealed. They have done neither.
Durand’s application was turned down because their proposals were contrary to the legislation on National Parks and contrary to planning policy.
An offensive and quite unjustified rant will not change that.
