Young driver in collision with lamp post in Westergate - 'He got a right earful from mum'

Those were the words of a police officer, who was called to the scene of a single-vehicle crash in Westergate last night (Thursday, March 25).

PC Tom Van Der Wee said a young driver was spoken to about his driving after he was involved in a collision with a lamp post.

The Sussex Roads Police officer who put the crash down to 'inexperience and over-confidence', added: "Thankfully no one was injured but it could have been much worse.

"The young driver has to pay for a new car and higher insurance costs. He also got a right earful from mum when she turned up!"
