An inspirational Yapton mum has been chosen as an ambassador of a campaign to encourage people with disabilities to be more active.
Amanda Newton will be a spokesperson for Together We Will, an initiative by eight national disabled sporting organisations.
Amanda, who is back competing in races despite being paralysed in a freak cycling accident in November last year, said: “I just feel so proud and privileged and honoured to not only support this campaign but to be a major spokesperson for it.
“I have the opportunity to be a big influence in hopefully helping people with disabilities to become involved in sport and experience the same happiness and joy it gives to me in so many ways.”
The campaign will initially last for three months.
Actor Will Mellor is also an ambassador and they have been interviewed by the BBC and other media outlets.
