Danny Mac has sent a video to his former school ahead of competing in the Strictly Come Dancing final this weekend.
The actor, best known for his role in Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks, attended The Regis School until 2004.
In a statement the school said: “We are thrilled that Danny has taken the time to wish us all a merry Christmas and look forward to celebrating hopeful success this weekend.”
Principal Mike Garlick, added “Having spoken to teachers who knew Danny, he was a popular student, always destined to be a performer. On behalf of everyone connected with The Regis School, I wish him all the best for Saturday.
At time of going to press, Danny was still the bookie’s favourite with Ladbrokes putting him at 4/5.
He has made an impression on the show from the start, thanks to his Cha Cha with dance partner, Oti Mabuse, which was followed in week two by a Viennese Waltz to INXS ‘Never Tear Us Apart’ that saw him finish in joint first place with Louise Redknapp.
These two celebrities, and sports reporter Ore Oduba, are the final three standing.
Each will perform three dances on Saturday, including a favourite from the series so far, in a bid to claim the glitterball trophy.
