POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a fire at a shop in Bognor.

Shortly before the blaze, two people dressed in black were seen running towards the Linden Road/Victoria Drive area.

Three fire engines attended the fire in Station Road just before 2am.

Detective Sergeant John Kalli said: “We believe this fire was started deliberately and it is fortunate that no one was injured.

“We would like to speak to anyone who may have seen something suspicious before or just after the fire broke out.”

Witnesses are asked to email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101 quoting reference 0087 of 06/08.
