THE A272 at Durleighmarsh near Rogate is now open again following a serious collision between a bus and a car this morning (Wednesday, February 10).
The road was re-opened by police this afternoon after West Sussex County Council highways contractors cleared the debris and covered fuel spillages with sand.
The driver of the car, a 24 year old woman, had to be cut out of her vehicle by firefighters using specialist equipment this morning.
She was airlifted to Southampton hospital with what a police spokesman described as ‘serious potentially life changing injuries’.
The crash occurred at 8.10am and police, firefighters, ambulance crew and air ambulance were called to the scene.
The bus was carrying children to school in Peterfield but no-one on it was injured.
Any witnesses are asked to email email@example.com or call 101 quoting serial 427 of 10/02.
