Two eateries have announced plans to open in The Arcade, Bognor Regis.

The Mezze, a Turkish grill restaurant and bar, and Rainbows, an ice-cream, pancake and waffles house have taken to social media to make the announcement in the last few days.

Listing its future address as Unit 4, The Arcade, the latter wrote: “We are so excited to be opening in The Arcade, a gorgeous historical building set between the town centre and the seafront.”

It added that the plans will see it aim to be ‘a perfect venue for breakfast, treats, birthday parties, or to grab a takeaway’.

Meanwhile at Unit 3, a sign in the winow gave notice of The Mezze’s license application which includes the sale and consumption on the premises of alcohol.

It details the deadline for representations is April 30 and that contact can be made to Arun District Council.

‘Coming soon’ posts on the Facebook pages for both businesses revealed hopes they will open next month.

The announcements follow news in February of a bakery opening at the historic site.

Arun District Council has been contacted for an update on the site, which it purchased last year, and this story will be updated accordingly.
