Travel delays caused by flooding in Bognor Regis area

FLOODING is causing problems for motorists in the Bognor Regis area.

This morning’s (Thursday, December 20) continuing heavy rain has resulted in delays for many drivers.

The A29 at Fontwell Avenue was closed in both directions at around 9am due to flooding between the A27 Arundel Road, the Fontwell services roundabout and A284 London Road and B2139 (Whiteways Lodge roundabout).

In Shripney there have been reports of slow traffic because of water on the A29 Shripney Road both ways at Sack Lane. Drivers are trying to pass through the water in the middle of the road.

Flooding on Rowan Way at North Bersted Street has also been reported.

More slow traffic and another road closure due to flooding on the B2166 Lower Bognor Road both ways between Hewart’s Lane, Chalcraft Lane and Pagham Road was reported at around 8.50am.
