Motorcyclist seriously injured in Chichester collision

A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a collision in Chichester.

Emergency services went to the B2166 Lagness Road at Runcton near Chichester at 6.40am on Friday (March 19) after a motorcyclist and a car had collided.

The 29-year-old man on the motorcycle sustained serious injuries, police said, and was taken by road ambulance to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.

The car driver was unhurt, police added.

The B2166 was closed for the incident to be safely responded to and fully investigated, and is likely to remain closed for much of the morning with diversions in place. Police thanked motorists for their ‘patience and understanding’.
