Eight-mile traffic queues after crash on M23

Drivers faced traffic queues of up to eight miles on the M23 following a crash involving two cars and a van this morning (Friday March 4).

One lane of the motorway was closed earlier this morning, though all lanes have now been reopened.

Severe congestion affected drivers on the southbound carriageway after the crash near Junction 9, Gatwick Airport.

Traffic is now running smoothly on the motorway.
