A PLEA for support to help solve traffic woes on a busy stretch of road has been made.
Jim Brooks, a member of Bognor Regis town and Arun district councils has again highlighted the dangers in Aldwick Road between its junctions with Victoria Drive and Nyewood Lane.
“There is a series of ongoing problems,” he said.
“Lack of parking, poor visibility there have been demonstrations about it.
“The police are doing the very best they can but we have still got problems with lorries delivering near the junction with Nyewood Lane.”
Cllr Brooks told last Wednesday’s meeting of the joint western Arun area committee he had written to West Sussex County Council’s cabinet member for highways and transport Pieter Montyn.
He added: “There is a lot of support in the area to create a one way system so we can have more space, better parking. I am asking for the committee’s support to arrange a meeting between the Aldwick businesses and residents.
Cllr Brooks said the issue had been brought to a head when two pedestrians were nearly run over.
