Tracey’s latest poems to be in print

A BOGNOR Regis poet has ten of her works included in a new anthology.

Tracey Walsh was selected for entry into the Women’s Writer of the Year 2013 book which will soon be published.

Tracey, 51, of Collyer Avenue, said she was delighted so many of her poems had been chosen along with 25 other female writers.

“It’s very exciting. It’s hard to believe sometimes. I can’t quite believe it’s me in the book.

“I only write about life experiences. I enjoy other people enjoying my work.

“I’ve got a small upstairs office where I do a lot of my writing but I also keep a pen and paper beside my bed in case I get ideas at night,” she said. “It’s satisfying to put my ideas on paper.”

Tracey is a care worker at a Bognor nursing home and has five children and 13 grandchildren.

Her latest successes in print follow six previous books in which her works have been published. But the latest book has the most.

Her love of poetry, began when she was at school: “I wrote my first poem when I was at secondary school and I continued to write. But I didn’t do anything about it until 2004.”

Tracey entered a writing competition and did well to spur her on to her current output.

Women’s Writer of the Year 2013 will be published soon by United Press, ISBN 978 0 85781 392 3.
