Teamwork will make sure popular festival goes ahead

A FESTIVAL is set to be a
tasty hit as it returns to Bognor Regis.

The Big Bite Artisan Food Festival will be back in Hotham Park next month.

The two-day event, which started last year, proved hugely successful with thousands flocking to enjoy the occasion.

The festival had been due to take place two weeks earlier, but after a loss of local sponsorship these dates became unpractical.

But in true Bognor style other organisations and groups quickly rallied round to offer their support.

Big Bite organiser Chris Allwood said: “The withdrawal of support so late in the day put the entire event in jeopardy.

“However, the rallying round of the Hotham Park Heritage Trust and the Southdowns Folk Festival, both of whom we worked with in 2013 to put on Big Bite, has allowed us to change
to a more suitable date when
all three organisations will join forces to put on an
amazing weekend’s entertainment of music,
crafts and fantastic food.”

Like last year. the festival will be jam-packed with local producers and growers showing off their top products.

Organisers are also working on bringing other entertainments to the
weekend so there will be plenty for all ages to do across the 22-acre park.

Rosemary Warren from Hotham Park Heritage Trust said: “We are very pleased to have the opportunity of working with Chris Allwood and his Big Bite team.

“Last year was a very popular event and we are confident its success will be repeated this year.

“The best craft people in the area will be complemented by the best food and drink providers in West Sussex.

“Roll on September.”

Roger Nash from the Southdowns Folk Festival said: “We are delighted to welcome back the Big
Bite Artisan Food Festival as part of our event in late September.

“We know from last year that this was very popular with the public and features some of the very best food and drink producers in the region. Can’t wait.”

The team behind Big Bite were also responsible for the Taste! Artisan Food Festival which earlier in the year saw thousands flock to enjoy a brilliant event.

Chris added: “We are looking forward to seeing many of the loyal 15,000 people who came to the 2013 Big Bite again in September.”
