Super slimmer sheds pounds and gains job

A SUPER slimmer has lost two dress sizes but gained a new career.

Lisa Empson’s life has transformed for the better after she decided to tackle the weight issue she had been suffering with for many years.

Lisa said: “I was an eternal yo-yo dieter who had tried every faddy, celebrity, quick fix diet out there in the market, I would stick to them for about two weeks lose a bit of weight and then the deprivation and hunger would get to me and I would blow it and end up heavier than when I started.”

Lisa, desperate to make some changes, was then told by a friend about a slimming group she could join.

“A friend had told me about Slimming World so on Tuesday, April 5 2011 at 5.30pm I walked through the doors of the Salvation Army Hall on The Queensway.

“I was greeted with a big smile, there was a buzz in the air and the atmosphere felt warm and friendly.

“The consultant explained all about food optimising to me and I remember thinking, no way am I still going to be able to eat all this and still lose weight – but I did.”

Lisa carried on attending the group and losing weight, when the consultant in charge of the group asked if anyone in the was interested in a role with the company.

Lisa said: “I wasn’t looking for another job as I was already a busy person with my partner and I already owning two businesses, but I loved what Slimming World had done for me and I wanted more people feel the same way I do.

“So I went along to the opportunity event where the role was explained to me, about how it was a flexible ten to 12 hours per week and I didn’t even need any qualifications as they would do all the training and I would get paid and thought, I want a piece of that.”

Lisa then launched her group, which meets on Wednesdays in St Wilfrids Church Hall, Ellasdale Road, and since then has never looked back.

“Watching people’s lives change and seeing them achieve their life-long weight-loss dream is such a fantastic feeling. Knowing that I played a tiny part in that is the best feeling in the world,” she said.

Lisa then took her career a step further when she took on the role of team developer for the Bognor and Littlehampton areas.

She now looks after a team of consultants and trains them.

Lisa added: “So who would of thought that on that fateful day when I was on my lowest ebb, when I walked through those doors that my life was going to change completely.

“I’ve not looked back and I don’t think I ever will.”
